ESSENTIALS FOR WORKING EFFECTIVELY WITH ADDICTION

South East England
MASTER CLASS

OCTOBER 29TH & 30TH FOLLOWED BY NOVEMBER 21ST & 22ND 2007

Alistair Rhind was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1956. He trained as a Psychiatric Nurse in Scotland in the late seventies, and went on to specialise in Addiction and Alcoholism therapy under the clinical guidance of Dr Max Glatt (Dec.), a leading world authority in Alcoholism and Addiction.

Alistair trains other therapists and health professionals in the ‘how to’ of working successfully in this field. He has been Treatment Director in several Private Rehabilitation Clinics around the country, where he specialised in designing and implementing successful Treatment Programmes for Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, Gambling, Sex Addictions, Self Harm, Eating Disorders and Addicts Families. Alistair has been involved with most of the top clinics in the South including 'The Priory'; he was Director of Family Therapy at the Promis Recovery Centre in Kent and Director of Addiction Treatment at Norfolk Lodge London, The Nottingham Clinic and Cygnet Health Clinic Harrow.

Alistair has trained in the U.S. and the U.K. in Addiction Therapy, Counseling, Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT and Systemic Family Therapy. He is also an Usui Reiki Master and a Karuna Reiki Master. Over the last twenty five years he has developed an approach to addiction recovery combining skills and knowledge gleaned from vast clinical and personal experience as well as wisdom and knowledge gained from extensive study of what works. This ensures that his clients have the best possible chance of achieving recovery.

“I know that Therapists out there are well trained and highly skilled individuals in their own right, but I want to make sure that both new therapists and older therapists who are coming into the field of Addiction Treatment and who are considering specialising, gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills needed to be truly effective in helping those who suffer from this devastating condition. Unless you really know what you are doing in the world that the addict inhabits, all your efforts will turn to nothing; they will manipulate you at best or eat you alive at worst. When you learn to work with addictions from the inside to out, then you can begin to witness miracles in action. I bring to this training all that I have learned, felt, witnessed and experienced over 30 years of day in day out, hands on working at the sharp end in the addiction field and my years of teaching and training Therapists, Doctors, Nurses and patients the ‘how to’ of Addiction and recovery.”

rule01

Why is this training important for you?

The need for skilled Addiction Therapists is greater that ever. Addictive problems are not on the decrease, they are rapidly increasing. Families are crying out for help and are receiving low level counselling from people who know very little about addiction and Alcoholism if they are lucky enough to get an appointment on the NHS within six months. help me   Industry is urgently in need of help and advice on how to understand and deal with their multi million pound Addiction problems. Working effectively with clients suffering from Alcoholism or Addictions requires specialist Knowledge and skills. Advising families, addicts or corporations means you must have a thorough indepth knowledge. A therapist must fully understand the nature of the problem before he/she can begin to be successful in this field. Too many therapists are willing to 'have a go' without the necessary knowledge base to work effectively. This is dangerous - you may be the Addicts last chance.

Addiction is an extremely complex condition dramatically affecting not only the sufferer but those close to him. Make no mistake - everyone suffers when Alcoholism/Addiction arrives. Alcoholics and Addicts are complex people who are lost, alone and extremely deluded. They need special people with specialist knowledge to help them find their way out of the terrible, painful  prison they are in. By beginning now to learn the essentials, you can start applying what you already know, to better effect. You can begin to help your clients achieve long-term sobriety and health.
